Day one – Leaving Durban at around 7am for your Big Five safari, we take a scenic drive along the KwaZulu-Natal coast, heading into the South African bush. Our first stop is The Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre. Here you will have the opportunity to view and learn about African wild cat, caracal, serval, and cheetah. You will be taken into the cheetah enclosure with a guide. A once in a lifetime experience to have pictures taken with and to interact with these amazing cats.
Arriving at Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park at around mid-day, we go straight into a safari game drive, making our way to Hilltop Camp. Once settled into your chalet, we will set out for an afternoon safari game drive, in search of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi’s 84 mammal and 425 bird species. Dinner will be at the restaurant, either a buffet or a set menu.
Day two – After enjoying breakfast, we head out for a safari game drive. Leaving Hilltop Camp, we have the opportunity to see elephants and leopard, which frequent the area. We make our way towards the Imfolozi side of the reserve, where sightings of lion, hyena and black rhino are common. On our way back to camp we will stop at the Centenary Centre, home of ”Operation Rhino”. Here you will be shown Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park’s efforts to save not only the rhino, but other animal species from extinction. There may be animals in the ‘boma’s’, awaiting relocation to other safari parks to replenish their numbers. This will be a good opportunity to get close to them to see Hluhluwe-Imfolozi’s efforts first hand. Dinner is served at the Hilltop camp restaurant. There is also a quaint bar at the restaurant entrance.
Day Three – A final breakfast is followed by a safari game drive with your guide. We make our way out of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park and onto the St Lucia Estuary, for a boat cruise. Here you will have the opportunity to see, crocodile, hippo, fish eagle and other animals which may be along the estuary banks. A perfect opportunity for photographers to capture the beauty of this World Heritage Site.

Night drives with the camp are available on request. This will be paid direct to the camp by yourself. The price is R400.00 per person.
