Durban safari guide Paul, collected our guests from Durban’s beachfront. The destination was Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park for a Big 5 safari. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is a favourite with all our guests. A Big 5 safari park close to Durban, with amazing views and scenery.
After a three hour drive, including a couple rest stops, Paul and our guests entered Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park’s northern Memorial Gate. The safari of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park had begun. What a safari it was! Sightings included all of the Big 5 over a three day safari. Our guests wanted to spend as much time as possible on drives with Paul, which he gladly accommodated. Up early in the mornings, returning in the late afternoons.

Other highlights of this safari from Durban included visiting Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitaion Centre and Isimangaliso Wetland Park. At Emdoneni our guests got to learn about Africa’s wild cats, such as cheetah, serval, caracal and African wild cat. At Isimangaliso Wetland Park they took an estuary cruise to view crocodile, hippo and fish eagle!
