One of our most popular safaris, taking you into the heart of two of KwaZulu-Natal’s most beautiful wildlife reserves.
Day 1 – Your first day will be jam packed full of wildlife activities, which will have your senses in overdrive. We will start our journey from Durban, or your preferred pickup point surrounding Durban. Your guide will drive you along the north coast towards St Lucia, now known as Isimangaliso Wetland Park. Here you will board a boat for an estuary cruise. On your boat cruise you will have the opportunity to see hippo, crocodile, fish eagle and a number of other mammal and bird species.
Bonamanzi Game Reserve is next on the agenda. Bonamanzi has four of the Big5, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Bonamanzi is a 4000 hectare reserve, which has sand forests, savannah and wetland areas. Here you will check in to your accommodation for the next two nights. You will have a game drive around the property with your guide. We will then make our way to Emdoneni Lodge. Emdoneni is a cheetah and wild cat conservation project. Other cats on the property include serval and caracal. You will be allowed inside the cheetah enclosure to learn more about them and have your picture taken near them. We will then return to Bonamanzi for sundowners and dinner.
Day 2 – A full day of game viewing inside Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. An early morning start with a packed breakfast. We take the short drive to the Imfolozi side of this world renowned Big5 reserve. We will enter through Nyalazi Gate and spend the day on the lookout for the abundance of wildlife that is found within this 96000 hectare reserve. We will return to Bonamanzi, where you can have sundowners at Lalapanzi Dam and take in the stunning sunsets. Dinner will be at the lodge restaurant.
Day 3 – Another early morning start with a packed breakfast. We will spend a half day on safari inside Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. We will explore the Hluhluwe side of the reserve, entering through Memorial Gate.
We will return you to Durban for the late afternoon.
