Isimangaliso Day Safari
Durban tour guide Paul collected our guests from Richards Bay where the cruise ship Oceania was docked for the day.
A short drive and we were in St Lucia, an estuary on our East coast. St Lucia now known as Isimangaliso Park is a World Heritage Site and has an abundance of wildlife. We boarded the boat for a estuary safari cruise. We had an enjoyable 2 hour safari boat cruise on the estuary with good sightings of fish eagle, hippo and crocodile. This wetland boast 4 of the big 5, with large pods of hippos and 800 crocodiles.
After the cruise we spent some time in the curio and fruit markets on the road side before returning to the ship for our guests departure.
